Financial Assistance for Our Clients and Students

Why Scholarships?

We want to make climbing and outdoor adventure more accessible to folks of all economic backgrounds. DLCG provides need-based financial aid to welcome more people into the climbing community and empower them with the skills to pursue outdoor adventure.

Scholarship Structure

Scholarships are need-based, and are distributed as 25%, 50%, 75%, or 100% subsidized tuition up to $500 per applicant. We evaluate your application based on the financial details you share with us, the amount of interest and/or effort you demonstrate, and any special circumstances you share.

Application Periods

We have three application periods for 2024:

Winter
Oct 1st - Nov 1st, 2023

Spring
Nov 2nd, 2023 - Feb 1st, 2024

Summer
Feb 1st - May 1st, 2024

* Your desired program date(s) should fall after the application period during which you apply, as we will review all applications at once at the end of each application period.

**Our Adventure Day Camp and Teen Climbing Camp sessions tend to fill very quickly once we open enrollment (typically by the 1st of the year). If you’d like to apply for a scholarship for your student, please apply during the winter application period.

Climbing Trip or Course Scholarships

Scholarships are currently only available for open enrollment trips and courses. Choose from:

To apply for subsidized tuition for a climbing trip or course with us, fill out our scholarship application form and select from available course dates. If we’re unable to accommodate your preferred date, we’ll help you select another option.

Scholarship FAQs

  • We review all scholarship applications at the end of each application period. Following the application deadlines, we will respond to Winter applicants by Nov. 14th, Spring applicants by Feb. 14th, and Summer applicants by May 14th.

  • Yes, families, couples, and other groups who wish to participate in their chosen trip or course together may submit a single application.

  • Please select a single program, trip, or course per application.

  • Yes. If you’re interested in multiple programs, or you would like to join us again, you may submit another application. However, we may prioritize first-time applicants over applicants who have already received scholarship funds.
