Though I was technically born in the Chicago area, I was raised in Madison, Wisconsin and have lived in the state ever since. I became interested in climbing in high school, but briefly gave it up for more time skiing and mountain biking. My love for the sport was rekindled in college and I started climbing outside regularly, adding another thing to the list of my mom's worries.
While in college I worked at the outdoor recreation center on campus and realized how much I enjoy exposing people to the outdoors, particularly climbing. Devil's Lake is a special place and I'm always excited to see people push themselves out there and realize for themselves how awesome climbing and the park are.
When I'm not climbing I'm either doing something else outside, eating something or trying to get someone to climb. Sometimes all three happen at once.
