Daniel Bedoya
Born in the faraway land of Chicago, I spent the better part of my life chasing dreams of being a big time theatre director and playwright. I received my BFA in Stage Management at Western Michigan University and made the leap to New York City upon graduating in 2018.
Somewhere along the way I discovered a passion for nature. I realized I wanted to spend my life exploring the outdoors, so I changed course and moved home to Chicago where I discovered climbing. What started off as a gym membership to First Ascent Climbing and Fitness gradually blossomed into the beginning of my climbing career as a resident gym guide and instructor.
In an effort to develop my outdoor skills (and because my flare for the dramatic has me living in extremes) I whisked myself away to Queenstown, New Zealand where I participated in a six month adventure guide training program with Pure Exploration, earning me NZOIA qualifications for outdoor rock climbing and bush hiking instruction. Now that I’m back home, I’m ready to answer the call to any outdoor adventure and take you along for the journey!
When I’m not working or playing outdoors, you can find me pointing my camera at people and places, catching up on the latest Doctor Who, or raiding a thrift store for your grandma’s old sweaters.
